Candy Hearts Exchange Letter
Jan. 1st, 2023 06:12 pmHello! Thank you for (potentially) writing for me, and to the mods for running this exchange in lieu of Chocolate Box.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for general prompts, I'll put some below.
MCU: Vice President Rodriguez & Vice President Rodriguez's Daughter
Confession: I've never seen this movie all the way through--I just skimmed it looking for the parts with Rodriguez. What can I say, I'll watch anything if it's got Miguel Ferrer in it. Anyway, apart from being played by one of my favorite actors, I liked that Rodriguez had a motive that wasn't your basic "I want money and power because duh." He did it for his daughter! And then nothing was done with the relationship between him and his daughter, or with him in general, really.
I'd love to see some of the relationship between him and his daughter. She doesn't really have a canon personality, so in practice she'd be more of an OC, but I don't mind that much. I assume she must have been sick at one point, so what was that like? Are they close, or not so much? How does their relationship change after the events of IM3?
Red Dead Redemption: Hosea Matthews & Arthur Morgan, Hosea Matthews/Dutch van der Linde
Cowboy dad!
I love Hosea for many reasons, including but not limited to his obvious dad qualities and sensible plans. I love whump/hurt/comfort, and Hosea, given his breathing problems, career path, and backstory, is a prime candidate. Whumpy ideas: whatever's wrong with his lungs goes really wrong, a con goes south and leads to some old-fashioned frontier justice, or maybe Hosea survives the events in Saint Denis and finds himself at the mercy of the Pinkertons.
Skyrim: Brynjolf/Mercer Frey
Additional confession: I never really paid that much attention to Brynjolf--I mean, if you direct your eyes slightly to the left you can see we have Mercer, who, in addition to being a fairly complex character for the canon, is voiced by Stephen Russell, which is really all I need in a character. But I do like the relationship between the two of them. They don't really love each other, but they were friends, and they don't really hate each other, but Mercer has been doing exceptionally sketchy thief business behind everyone's back the whole time.
This is one of like two / ships I've asked for this go-round, so some smut is okay, but I'd like there to be a story behind it, if you know what I mean? Or if you wanted to do a character study-esque examination of their relationship, I'd go for that too.
Twin Peaks: Albert Rosenfield & Tammy Preston, Albert Rosenfield & Diane Evans, Dale Cooper/Albert Rosenfield
*holds up an image of Albert* I just think he's neat.
I mention in my sign up that I love Albert whump or hurt/comfort, and I think it would be interesting to see the differences between the other three in terms of how they react to the whump. As far as whumpy ideas go, I should note that in my own private headcanon Season 3 Albert has cancer, just as the actor playing him did. Other ideas: Albert picking at the locals turns ugly, field work goes south, or (especially in conjunction with the Dale/Albert ship) some queerphobic violence happens.

Badlands 2005
Please consider giving this a watch even if you don't write for it! It's less than an hour long and charming in its own way. Join me in my Badlands 2005 sandbox! My fandom promo post for it is here.
My favorite thing about this fandom is the way it plays with Rex's status as a cyborg. There's a lot of transhumanist commentary that could have been made if the show had ever made it beyond the pilot. The relationship between Garson and Rex is interesting, too. Garson is obviously aware that Rex is a cyborg and throws him into harm's way all the time, which seems like it could be a point of contention is Rex wasn't programmed to do exactly that.
Basically, I'd love anything about the relationship between the two of them, or worldbuilding about the purpose cyborgs serve in this society (they're clearly useful, but the two water tankers at the beginning imply there's a fear that they'll take away jobs from real humans). A little hurt/comfort might be nice, too, especially for poor, long-suffering Rex.

As the only other writer in this fandom pointed out, whether or not Maggie exists seems to depend solely on whether or not it serves the episode for her to exist, so feel free to go Andamo/Lucky over Andamo/Lucky/Maggie. Either way, I'd love some established relationship for these two (or three). Canon-typical shenanigans, hurt/comfort (emotional or physical), or even just a day in the life could be fun for this canon.
Thief
My fandom promo post for it is here. I won't sell it as hard as the other two just because I know there are others out there who've played this game and I'm not alone in my fandom sandbox.
Basically, Garrett. I love Garrett. I love his cynicism and wiseass-ery and his desperate, futile struggle not to get caught up in saving the world again. All of this makes him a prime candidate for whump, in my non-professional opinion. Bad end-AUs are especially fun--I've seen a couple of them for Thief Gold, but never for The Metal Age or Deadly Shadows, so if you want to cause me to squee like a child, try one of those. Otherwise, I'd love an exploration of Garrett's relationship with other character(s), including those who weren't nominated (Artemus and Basso come to mind, and so does Lauryl, the little ghost girl).

Much like with Thief, this is basically, Albert. I love Albert. The cynicism and prickliness hiding the heart of a pacifist. The dedication to justice, even when everyone is telling him he's wrong (coughcough Cooper inviting him to Twin Peaks and then complaining that he's still Albert while in Twin Peaks coughcough).
I love, love, love hurt/comfort or whump for Albert. If you want to pair him with any of the other nominated characters, in & or / relationships, that's fine with me. I have a special soft spot for Cooper&Harry&Albert and Albert&Tammy, and for prickly characters treated gently and not knowing what to do with that.
